Premier Electrical Group Donates Solar Power to Local Charity, Saving Thousands on Energy Bills and Supporting Cancer-Affected Children and Families

We are thrilled to share the details of a recent project where we donated and installed a 15kW solar panel system worth £12,000 at Daisy Lodge, a local charity that provides respite care to children and their families who have been impacted by cancer.

This solar system is expected to save the charity an estimated £3,000 per year in electricity costs over the next 20-25 years. These savings will enable Daisy Lodge to fund at least 100 one-on-one support sessions each year, providing essential care for young people and their families.

In addition to the financial benefits, the solar installation will significantly reduce the charity’s carbon footprint, cutting almost 3 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. We want to say a huge thank you to our long-standing supplier, EEL Greentech Belfast, who generously contributed £3,000 in equipment toward the installation.

The system consists of 28 JA 545W solar panels and is the maximum size that could be installed with the charity’s current electrical infrastructure. This installation is not just a one-off donation but a recurring gift that will keep providing substantial savings and environmental benefits for years to come.

We were honoured to work closely with the team at Daisy Lodge, particularly Corinna and Raph, whose dedication to their mission is truly inspiring. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support such a deserving cause.

This project highlights the impact that renewable energy can have—not just in reducing costs but in helping charities continue their vital work.
